A Message From The Principal
Fort Belvoir Primary Elementary School was honored by the FCPS School Board for being named a Third-time Virginia Distinguished Purple Star School. This incredible achievement reflects the dedication and hard work our staff puts into supporting our military-connected families within our school community. The recognition was made even more special by the personal congratulations from Mr. Dune, representative for the Mount Vernon district, and Ms. St. John-Cumming of the Franconia district. We were also pleased to have Fort Belvoir's Garrison Commander, COL David Stewart, in attendance, along with Garrison Command Sergeant Major, CSM Hopkins, and Ms. Laxton, Principal of Upper to celebrate our accomplishment.
A special thank you goes to our very own Ms. Brogan, School Counselor, and Ms. Larson, Multi-Language Teacher, along with others who worked diligently to submit the application on behalf of the school. Their commitment and perseverance paid off tremendously, and we could not be more grateful for their efforts. This recognition is a true testament to the outstanding work happening at our school. I am incredibly proud of our hardworking staff and our ongoing support from the school community. It is an honor to lead such a dedicated team!
Together we are and will continue to be Fort Belvoir strong!

Introducing the Amazing Chichi & BellaRose!
Students at Fort Belvoir Primary are thrilled about Chichi and BellaRose, two dogs trained by the American Red Cross to meet emotional needs. These loving dogs will be visiting our campus biweekly on Fridays for an hour, spreading joy and comfort to students and staff alike. It's hard not to smile when Chichi and BellaRose are in the building, as the children eagerly give them hugs and pats on the head. Their presence has become a source of happiness and emotional support for everyone who interacts with them.
Federal Impact Aid Survey - DUE NOWComplete your survey - click here!
FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets (in the upper right corner after logging in). Please complete it as soon as possible.
For any families who have not completed the survey in ParentVUE, paper copies have been sent home with your student. Paper forms should be returned by Friday, November 22.
Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is important. Information from this survey resulted in more than $4 million in funding last year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
For more information, please watch this video on Impact Aid and visit the Federal Impact Aid Survey page.

On Thursday, November 14th, our students participated in a meaningful event to honor Ruby Bridges' walk for equality. During their specials time, students walked around the campus holding a banner created by our Family Ambassadors. The walk was a powerful reminder of the importance of standing up for justice and equality. At the conclusion of the walk, each student signed the banner, making a personal pledge to stand for excellence and commit to making positive changes in the world around them.
Education, as emphasized during the event, is the key to opening doors and creating opportunities for all. No matter the age, the students learned a valuable lesson: they have the ability to make a difference in our society. The event was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the courage of Ruby Bridges and inspire our students to carry that legacy forward in their own lives.
Families are encouraged to learn more about Ruby Bridges using the link HERE.
