We are so proud of our students! This past week, they showcased their creativity and enthusiasm by wearing superhero capes decorated with 100 items in celebration of their academic accomplishments. Families joined us in this special event, walking the hallways together as we honored the hard work and dedication of our learners. The excitement and joy on our students' faces were a testament to their achievements and the support they receive from both home and school.
Throughout the school, students have been challenging themselves to read 100 books and beyond, demonstrating their love for learning. Our mid-year literacy and math data reflect the incredible progress they have made, highlighting the commitment of our dedicated teachers and the perseverance of our students. Their efforts and determination continue to inspire us, and we look forward to even more growth and success in the months ahead!
Together we are and will continue to be Fort Belvoir strong!

Magic Show at Fort Belvoir Primary
Students recently had the opportunity to experience an exciting magic show presented by Joe Romano. Combining the wonders of magic with the excitement of science, he captivated the audience with a variety of engaging experiments. His performance highlighted the theme that each of us can be a hero by embracing curiosity and discovering a passion for science. The show not only entertained but also encouraged students to see science in a fun and inspiring way.
We hope this experience sparked curiosity and excitement among our students, motivating them to explore scientific concepts beyond the classroom. We are thrilled to share that Joe Romano will be returning next month with a brand-new show designed specifically for our first and second-grade students. We look forward to another captivating performance that will continue to ignite a love for learning and discovery.

Each year, during Read Across America week, we welcome soldiers into our classrooms to share the joy of reading with our students. Seeing soldiers in uniform engaged in reading helps inspire a love for books and learning while highlighting the importance of literacy. We invite you to be part of this special event and join us in making reading an unforgettable experience for our students!
Learning Night at Fort Belvoir Primary
CWOC Snacks Donation
We are extremely appreciative of CWOC for their generous donation of snacks to Fort Belvoir Elementary Schools. This organization consistently goes above and beyond to support our school community. These snacks will be distributed to classrooms, ensuring that our students have the nourishment they need to stay focused and engaged in learning. We firmly believe that students cannot learn effectively if they are hungry, and this donation will make a meaningful difference in their daily success.
Successful Breakfast with Families!
This past week, we hosted Breakfast with Families, and it was a major success! Nearly 200 families joined us to start the day together, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This event provided a unique bonding experience not only for our students but for the school community as a whole. We will continue to seek additional opportunities to strengthen the connection between our school and the Fort Belvoir Primary Elementary community.

📐 Breaking Down the Budget: Supporting Academic Growth and Algebra by Eighth Grade
The FCPS Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Proposed Budget invests in academic growth and excellence for each and every student, which is one of the priorities of the FCPS Strategic Plan.
Since the 2023-24 school year, FCPS has seen a 9.5% increase in eighth graders taking Algebra I or more advanced math and a 6.8% increase in fifth graders in advanced math.
Studies show that students who complete algebra in middle school have more opportunities to take advanced math and science courses in high school. This can open up new academic paths for students! Watch a video that shows why eighth grade algebra matters.

🐻 It’s Kindergarten Registration Time!
Attending kindergarten provides children with an opportunity to learn and practice the essential social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives. Fairfax County public schools typically conduct kindergarten registration events, including orientation, between January and April. Eligible children can also be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps us prepare and ensure we have the teachers and resources needed on the first day of school.
Families should prepare for registration by gathering documents and completing forms on the FCPS kindergarten registration webpage. FCPS offers support and resources for all families to help with registration and the transition to kindergarten. For support in other languages, visit the kindergarten registration webpage.
✨ A strong start is Goal 1 of the 2023-30 Strategic Plan.
