Fort Belvoir STEAM Family Day
Fort Belvoir Elementary was excited to hold it's annual STEAM Family Day on November 6th. Families, students, teachers, and volunteers were able to enjoy a beautiful fall day by participating in a variety of activities that showcased the different foundations of STEAM; Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.
The highlight of our day was the egg-drop engineering design challenge. Students were tasked with creating a contraption that would protect an egg from breaking when dropped by Fort Belvoir firefighters from the top of their firetruck ladder. Thank you to all who came to volunteer or participate and especially to our STEAM team for their hard work in organizing this event!
